Whether you own one car or several, being an owner on Drivy is a smart way to offset the costs of car ownership. We want to empower you to earn as much as you can, and there are more ways to do that than by simply raising your prices.

Here are our 5 tips for maximising your earnings potential:

Tip #1: Install Drivy Open

If you haven’t already equipped your car with Drivy Open, you should. Since this cool technology allows vetted drivers to unlock your car using their smartphone (without you having to move a muscle), you’ll be able to fit in more bookings in less time.

Also, more drivers are filtering search results to show only Open-equipped cars. You wouldn’t want to miss out on those potential bookings, would you?

Tip #2: Allow Instant Booking

Drivers love listings with Instant Booking. It saves them time by not having to wait for an owner to accept their booking request. It saves you a lot of time, too - and when it comes car rentals, time is money.

For cars that have Open installed, Instant Booking feature is automatically activated (but don’t worry, all the drivers that want to book your car will have already been verified by us).

If your car isn’t equipped with Open, Instant Booking can encourage drivers to book your car immediately. A word of caution, though: once a driver books your car, you need to honour that commitment and not cancel. The best way to do that? Be vigilant in keeping your calendar up to date and set your rental conditions upfront.

Tip #3: Activate variable pricing

We don’t think twice when a hotel room charges more during a popular holiday period. Drivy has peak periods, too. As an owner, you can take full advantage of in-demand days by opting for variable pricing.

What this means is that you can charge higher prices on days when it’s anticipated that more drivers are looking for cars (think weekends, public holidays, and vacation times). To make it easy, you only need to decide 3 prices: for weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Then, we’ll fill up the next 6 months of your calendar for you.

Whether you go with our suggested prices or not, you’ll always stay in control. You can even adjust the prices for individual days if you want.

Tip #4: Create a stand-out listing

On Drivy, we’ve found that the most attractive listings often earn more money, faster. The way to draw in potential drivers to your listing starts with beautiful photos of your car. (Need help with that? We got you.)

Next, keep drivers interested with a detailed description of your car’s features and any other useful information. Finally, end on a personal note to make drivers feel good about booking your car. Devoting some time at the beginning to create a perfect listing will go a long way in helping you earn more.
